Nativo Experience in El Calafate: Walichu Caves and Patagonian Dinner
The Nativo Experience is a unique excursion in El Calafate that combines adventure, history and cuisine in just 3 hours. It is a deep-Patagonia experience, ideal for your arrival or departure day, or to round out a day after another excursion.
4x4 excursion through deep Patagonia
After hotel pick-up, you begin a Land Rover 4x4 ride along the shore of Lago Argentino. Your guide shares information about the Patagonian flora, fauna, geography and glaciology as we cross the steppe. The first stop is on the lakeshore, and the second at a panoramic viewpoint on a cliff with open views of the mountains and the lake.
The Walichu Caves and the Tehuelche cave paintings
The centerpiece of the experience is the visit to the Walichu Caves, where you can see cave paintings of the Tehuelche peoples, the first inhabitants of Patagonia. The guide brings the history of these nomadic peoples to life, taking you thousands of years into the past.
The excursion ends with a full Patagonian meal inside the cave: homemade soup, lamb stew with vegetables, chocolate mousse and drinks included (water, wine and Terma Patagónico). A unique dining experience in a prehistoric setting.
