NATIONAL PARK
Trekking and Canoes
Tierra del Fuego · Ushuaia
A different way to visit Tierra del Fuego National Park: trekking through the Fuegian forest and navigation in inflatable rafts on the Lapataia River, with lunch in a dome.
A different way to visit Tierra del Fuego National Park, unique for combining mountains and forest at sea level in the same place. Nature is the star and you are the guest invited to discover it, always respecting the environment.
After being picked up at your hotel, you travel about 12 km to the National Park, where the trekking begins along the Coastal Trail (7 km, about 3 hours), through the Fuegian forest and along the Beagle Channel coast — depending on the weather and the group, the guide may choose the Pampa Alta trail — with beautiful views of the Redonda, Hoste and Navarino Islands, and remains of ancient Yámana settlements.
Once the trekking is finished, on the banks of the Lapataia River a hot lunch is served in a dome. Then the navigation in inflatable rafts begins (for 8 passengers plus the guide): you navigate the Lapataia River down to the sea at Lapataia Bay, very close to the sign marking the end of National Route No. 3.
