VINCIGUERRA
GLACIER and Tempanos Lagoon
A mountain trek through the Andorra valley to a natural viewpoint over the green-water lagoon and the glacier. With a mountain guide, lunch and technical equipment included.
Vinciguerra Glacier
From the outskirts of Ushuaia we head into a trail that runs along the Arroyo Grande, in the Andorra valley: a Ramsar site and wetland of international importance, with rivers, beaver dams, peat bogs and glaciers. The route is split into four big slopes that, with a professional guide, we climb using mountain crampons.
Once past the vegetation line the landscape turns into rugged peaks carved by the ice. A final climb leads to a natural viewpoint with a breathtaking view of the glaciers and the Tempanos Lagoon, a vibrant green color. We stop for lunch and the experience culminates at the foot of the glacier, with the Beagle Channel and the Chilean Navarino Island in the distance. It is a high-difficulty trek (physical and technical), for people aged 12 to 55 in good physical shape.
